More Whitings from the surf...

Calm seas on this morning..

A few Whiting for lunch...
Storytime:
While surf fishing on this morning, I was standing in knee deep water.  After casting out, I looked down at my feet and there was a 4 or 5 foot long shark swimming at my feet..  I jumped out of the water quickly.  The shark appeared to be a Bonnethead.

Remnants of tropical storm Erika paint the morning sky.
This eel, which fell off the hook just as it reached shore, was caught on a piece of shrimp.

Stuck at Sea, Calibougue Sound, Hilton Head Island

Eric and Chris tow the Whaler back to marina ...

Turns out the fuel pump went bad.

Oyster Cracker of a day...

Storytime:
Set out solo on this Monday morning by heading South to check the conditions.  The tide was ripping, and it was a bit choppy, so turned the boat around and headed North...but then the motor bogged and quit.  About 100 foot of anchor line was let out, but it would not grab in the 60+ foot deep water.  Made some phone calls for a tow in, and finally the anchor grabbed, otherwise the boat would have drifted out to sea or to Tybee Island.  Thankfully, the guys arrived and towed the boat to safety.
