Mr. Vague Trio at The Landing Restaurant and Tiki Bar, June 2 2017

After the show, packing up gear at the Tiki Bar...
Colorful menu of yummy grub...
Great show at The Landing Restaurant and Tiki Bar.  Boatloads of people attended (literally), and it was a great crowd, great venue, and, of course, great music...

Sunrise with Fuji Guide

Water temp about 73F, air about 80F at noon.  Up with the sunrise, but it had rained a good bit at Mountain Island...Lake was high, water had leaves, sticks, etc.. And the fishing was slow.  We maybe caught about 15 bass, sunnies, and one brown snake.  All critters released.

May Fishing at MIL

Down river view

Spotted Bass

Sunfish
Water 75F, air temps got into the low 80s by noon.  Cloudy-then-sunny-nice kinda day.  Topwater bite was slow, as if they were nibbling rather than attacking.  The bite along the banks was active, with some 99 spotted bass, largemouth bass, and sunfish caught.  All fish were released.

Fender Bass

Dogwoods are blooming on the Catawba River and around Mountain Island Lake.

A few Spotted Bass caught on flukes.
Air was about 70F at noon; did not check water temp.  The fish were still sleeping it seems.  A few more weeks and the bluegills should begin to feed.
