17-March-2013 ~ Mountain Island Lake ~ Spotted Bass

Me and the boys hit the lake for 3 or 4 hours on a fairly nice day, with air temp about 65F.  Water was still cold at 48F.  This good sized Spotted Bass was caught on a spoon casted in open water at about 15 foot depth.  The bite was slow, but it was nice to be out on the water, watching the Ospreys floating around in the sky.

Shi Zhu are the cutest little creatures.  This little girl is our new addition.

18 Feb 2013 ~ Mountain Island Lake ~

A few days after the rain and snow and cold, it warmed up finally to 52F.  Water temp was 45F.  We hung upper lake portion, jigging and casting in a few honey holes.  The fish pictured above were the only two caught in this 2 hour trip.  Orange seemed to be the color of the day.  Two bass, a largemouth and a spottted.

02-Feb-2013 ~ Mountain Island Lake ~ A cold but clear and sunny 45F day.

Spotted bass on a blue plastic minnow in 30 feet of water.

 Largemouth Bass on a pumkin colored Yamamota Crappie soft plastic.

And a stop at Blythe Landing up at Lake Norman just to see what was going on....kinda quiet indeed.
