Redfish

31-August-2013 ~ Hilton Head Island

This nice Redfish was caught on a whole mullet casted way up in a little creek inlet...while fishing with the other rod for Sea Trout.  Too large to keep (about 34 inches long), but made for a nice end to a beautiful day out on the water.



Baby Box Turtle



25-August-2013 ~ Baby Eastern Box Turtle

Newest addition to the zoo here.  This little box turtle is probably a yearling; still small enough to be called a baby.  He was found in South Carolina and given to us by a neighbor.  We'll keep him over winter and release him eventually in the same area he was found.  Now to figure out what his/her name will be ?

Bluefish

A few small Bluefish were on patrol in a few of the creek inlets.  These were caught on bits of shrimp and cut bait.

Sunrise and Sea Trout

A good bit of fish caught but a lot of small ones.  One lonely Sea Trout made it home, but the beautiful sunrise was worth it.

Snapping Turtle eggs have hatched

Baby Corn Snakes peek through their coconut shell door.  The 3 snapping turtle eggs from the incubator hatched successfully.  The little critters are cute.  They will be fed and maybe kept over winter, then released to the wild in the future.
