A weekend of fishing at Lake James with the boys.  They caught a bunch of smallmouth bass, a few largemouths, and many bluegills/sunnies.  On Friday night, just after getting off the lake, it rained 4 inches in one hour; cats and dogs.  We pretty much had the entire Linville arm of the lake all to ourselves, and it was beautiful despite the on/off showers.  In a word, peaceful.

This is a photo of the access ramp.  As you can see, the 'walk-up' ramp is gone, and the water is way higher than usual, similar to the way it was in May during the flooding.  The whole Catawba River chain of lakes is full pond nad then some.  Had to go swimming a bit to get the boat tied to the floating dock.  And to top it all off, we were skunked, with only one bass caught.  The water on the river and lake banks was super high, water dirty, fish hard to find.  Sir Sean's catfish quest is 'to be continued'...
